Suze and Nina are two different entities. Suze is a wine bar in Fitzroy North, Nina is a pasta bar in Northcote. Suze is relaxing and a touch polished, Nina is a fast pace and playful venue. Both are supported by their own beautiful local community, and ran with warmth, simplicity, and heart.
Our team is small but solid, cohesive, and fully committed. Everyone shares their passion for the industry and brings it into every shift. Everyone is proud to be working at Suze and Nina.
We’re now looking for a head sommelier to take charge of both venues, and keep all things beverages running smoothly.
The role is relatively approachable for an experienced candidate, since our drinks list is focused on wines and vermouths, with a small number of classics cocktails - but it still calls for precision, consistency and a robust sense of service.
Other than service, the main admin tasks will be:
Wines par level, ordering, invoicing and stock
Cocktails developing, batching, par levels
Wine tastings

A genuine love and interest in hospitality
Knowledge and skills on all things related to food, wine, spirits and guests’ experience
