About Worthy Cause:

Worthy Cause is a social enterprise that supports vulnerable with long-term and complex barriers to employment through our structured employment program. We offer them the core, interpersonal, financial and social skills they need to become employable and change their lives.

We operate this program through cafe and cookie manufacturing operations. Proceeds from and hours of employment within these operations is used to benefit our program participants.

Position Overview:

The Cookie Baker role is responsible for preparing, baking, packaging and supporting the logistics of our handcrafted cookies. This role works closely with the kitchen and fulfilment teams to ensure consistent, high-quality products are delivered safely and on time. This will include all aspects of cookie production: weighting, mixing, portioning, baking, packing and cleaning.

This is a hands-on role focused exclusively on our cookie production line. Attention to detail, consistency and care are essential. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and achieve their tasks in a timely manner and have the skills to cope with busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities:




Follow standardised recipes and preparation instructions for cookie dough and baking
Portion, mix, bake and cool cookies according to production schedules
Maintain safe food handling practices, hygiene and cleanliness at all times
Follow all storage and thawing procedures for ingredients including eggs and egg pulp
Package cookies
Assisting with fulfilment and logistics

Employment Program
Contribute to an inclusive and secure work setting for all team members
Provide informal guidance to employment program participants
Role model safe, consistent and respectful work behaviour

Skills & Qualifications
Previous kitchen, bakery or food handling experience preferred
Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
Commitment to food safety and hygiene
Robust attention to detail and consistency
Comfortable working with repetitive tasks in a busy environment
Ability to lift boxes and stand for extended periods
Computer literacy skills required to use shipping platforms (e.g., Sendle, Shippo) and spreadsheets
Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner is required
