The Senior Network Engineer providesadvanced technical leadership across enterprise network platforms.
The roleincludes the design, implementation, optimisation, and support of complexnetwork infrastructures across hybrid environments including on‐premises,cloud, and software‐defined networking solutions.
The engineer ensures highavailability, resilience, security, and performance across enterprise networkservices while contributing to platform uplift, automation, and operationalexcellence.
KeyResponsibilities•Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise networkarchitectures across multi‐site and hybrid cloud environments.
•Provide specialist expertise across routing, switching, firewalls, loadbalancing, WAN, LAN, VPN, and SD‐WAN technologies.
•Support platform engineering initiatives including automation, network‐as‐code,and infrastructure modernisation.
•Conduct advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution across complex networkand platform environments.
•Implement and maintain network security controls including segmentation, zero‐trustmodels, and secure access solutions.
•Develop and maintain technical design documents, configuration standards, andoperational procedures.
•Lead major network changes, upgrades, migrations, and integration activities.
•Monitor network performance, analyse capacity, and ensure proactive tuning andoptimisation.
•Collaborate with architecture, security, cloud, and platform engineering teamsto deliver secure and scalable solutions.
•Contribute to incident, problem, and change management processes in accordancewith ITIL frameworks.
•Provide technical leadership, mentoring,



and guidance to engineering andoperations teams.
•Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks, audit requirements, andindustry standards.
•Participate in vendor management, technology evaluations, and capability upliftinitiatives.
RequiredSkills and Experience• Extensive experience as a senior network engineer in complex enterpriseenvironments.
• Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking technologiesincluding routing, switching, firewalls, SD‐WAN, VPN, andwireless.
• Experience designing and supporting hybrid network platforms across on‐premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, orGCP).
• Demonstrated expertise with enterprise firewalls and securityappliances such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.
• Solid understanding of network security principles, segmentation, andsecure architecture design.
• Experience with automation and scripting such as Python, Ansible, orinfrastructure‐as‐code.
• Proven ability to lead major network projects, upgrades, andmigrations.
• Experience working within ITIL‐based servicemanagement frameworks.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven experience working in enterprise, government, or regulatedenvironments.
• Required Australian Citizenship and Mandatory AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
DesirableSkills• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, or JNCIP.
• Experience with cloud networking and platform engineering services.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Splunk.
• Experience in government, defence, or critical infrastructureenvironments.
• Exposure to DevOps and platform automation practices.
