About the role

Join the vibrant team at The JCU General Store as a Cafe Manager. This full-time position is located at the front of JCU and offers a rewarding opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while providing exceptional service to students and staff.

What you'll be doing
Prepare a variety of high-quality menu items and snacks for the store
Operate the La Marzocco espresso machine to serve specialty coffee and beverages
Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students, staff and visitors
Maintain a clean and organised service area
Responsible for stock management, administration, rostering and other food service operations
Supervising a small team of casual staff

What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience as a cafe manager in a hospitality or food service setting




Barista skills and experience in serving high-quality coffee and beverages
Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills
Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a rapid-paced workplace
Good time management, organisation and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations

The JCU General Store and Cafe is owned and managed by The John Flynn College, a residential college located at JCU Townsville Campus

This is a permanent full time position working day shift Monday throughFriday with public holidays off.
