Our client is a well-established shopping centre owner and management group in South East Queensland, overseeing a diverse portfolio of retail assets. Committed to maintaining high standards of presentation, safety, and operational excellence, they are seeking a proactive FacilitiesAssistant to join their team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Centre Manager and Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the shopping centre. This hands-on position involves asset maintenance, contractor coordination, risk management, and general upkeep to ensure the centre remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining the centre’s assets and ensuring all operational systems and procedures are followed
Ensure risk management and safety procedures are continuously implemented
Monitor and liaise with contractors and service providers (security, cleaning, maintenance, etc.)
Investigate and report incidents, ensuring compliance with WHS policies




Carry out minor maintenance and cleaning tasks, including lighting replacements, plumbing, and gardening
Support tenancy fit-outs and coordinate with retailers on operational matters
Participate in emergency control procedures and attend relevant training sessions

About You
Previous experience in an operational, maintenance, or facilities role (shopping centre experience desirable)
Robust problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
A proactive and hands-on approach to daily tasks
Knowledge of WHS regulations and risk management procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A valid driver’s license and relevant statutory licenses (or willingness to obtain)
