DGH is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our team in Townsville, QLD. This is a full-time position offering the chance to work with a agile organisation in the Trades & Services sector. As a Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Key responsibilities
Assembling, installing and commissioning mechanical equipment and machinery components according to specifications and engineering drawings
Performing routine maintenance, inspections and preventative servicing to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions accurately
Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments with proficiency and safety awareness
Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards and within specified timelines
Maintaining a clean and safe work workplace,



adhering to all health and safety regulations
Collaborating with other team members and supervisors to ensure efficient project completion
Keeping detailed records of work completed and reporting any issues or concerns promptly

What we're looking for
Trade qualification in fitting or equivalent demonstrated competency through experience
Proven experience in fitting, mechanical assembly or a related trade discipline
Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and work instructions
Sound knowledge of mechanical principles, tolerances and fitting practices
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable, safety-conscious and capable of working independently or as part of a team
Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including lifting and working at varying heights
Current or willingness to obtain relevant certifications and licences as required
