The Local Approvals team is seeking a Senior Town Planner with at least 5 years of experience in the assessment of development applications of varying complexity and typology and preferably with experience dealing directly with clients.You will be required to:assess and determine development and modification applications in a timely mannerto provide advice on planning matters, for both telephone and email inquiriesassessment of linen plans for subdivisions to ensure legislative requirements have been metPrepare and lodge Development applications to the council for proposed developmentPrepare a statement of environmental effects to accompany the development application to the councilAssist in meeting Development Services and Administration section's performance targets.Productive and timely preparation of development applicationsProvide input into the development of Council's policies and objectives relating to improvement of the built environmentEnsure that clients and stakeholders are provided with the highest level of service to ensure that planning outcomes are acceptable to all involved in the assessment processQualifications and experienceA Bachelor or higher degree in Town PlanningAt least five years relevant experience, especially involving the assessment of development applicationsExperience working with other disciplines and coordinating input from various professionalsExperience in setting short term and long term objectives with follow-up performance monitoringKnowledge of applicable legislation/regulations including, working knowledge of appropriate sections of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act **** and the Local Government Act ****Computer literateDemonstrated superior communication skills and commitment to customer serviceAbility to work within a team environmentAvailability to work flexible working hours
