About Us:

ATS Building Products is a dynamic National Timber and Building Products supplier with branches in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. We are a major supplier to both residential and commercial builders with a growing Frame & Truss division.

About the role:

This is a full-time, permanent position for someone with experience in designing timber trusses, wall frames and floor systems. The role is fully on-site, five days a week, giving you hands‑on involvement with our production team and the opportunity to see your designs come to life, with the following responsibilities:
Wall Frame, Frame & Truss designing, estimating and detailing for Commercial and Domestic builders
Technical design and documentation of jobs through engineered truss and frame software (Multinail or similar)
Liaising with clients, drafters, designers, builders and architects
Identifying cost reduction opportunities through design/layout optimisation




Comply with ATS Building Products policies and procedures surrounding Chain of Custody and Forest Stewardship Council requirements.

Skills and experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in timber wall frame, truss or structural timber design
Able to comprehensively read Architectural and Engineering building plans
Proficient with CAD-based design/layout software and drafting/detailing workflows.
Excellent communication skills in dealing with both internal and external customers
Experience with Multinail Systems preferred (MiTek and Pryda also highly regarded)
