Client Manager - Business Services (Brisbane)

Run your own portfolio of SMB clients in a Fortitude Valley firm, with offshore support taking care of the prep so your time goes on review, advice and client contact.

About The Role

This is a public practice Client Manager role in a Brisbane firm of around 60 people, part of a multi-business group covering bookkeeping, financial advice, lending and property. You will own a portfolio of small and medium business clients end to end, with offshore support handling preparation so your day is review, client contact and advice.

What You Will Be Doing
Owning a portfolio of SMB clients as their primary point of contact
Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and BAS for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and SMSFs
Delivering monthly and quarterly management accounts and walking clients through what they mean
Providing guidance beyond compliance, including budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
Leading year end and planning conversations, including tax planning and structuring
Reviewing the work of intermediate and junior accountants and giving feedback that develops them
Acting as the technical backstop for the bookkeeping team when a job outgrows them
Working daily with the offshore team,



setting the brief and reviewing what comes back
Identifying where a client needs another part of the group, such as lending or wealth, and making the introduction

What We Are Looking For
CA or CPA qualified
At least 8 years in public practice, including recent Australian experience
Comfortable across companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
Confident holding a client relationship without a manager in the room
Desirable: Division 7A and small business CGT in practice, and experience reviewing or mentoring others
Offshore support on every portfolio
2 days WFH & adaptable schedule, plus Finish Early Fridays
Referral pathways into the wider group, so you always have something to offer when a client needs more than accounting
Overseas qualified accountants with Australian practice experience are welcome
