BTIG APAC is a global financial services firm seeking a Front Office Technical Support Specialist for a 12-month contract in Sydney.
The role provides in office, front-line technical support to a trading and operations group of approximately 20 people, focusing on the reliable day-to-day operation of local network, storage, data-center, desktop, and systems infrastructure.What You'll DoProvide responsive, hands-on front-line technical support to Sydney-based trading and operations usersSupport and maintain local network, storage, and data-center environment, escalating to regional or US teams as appropriateSupport and maintain desk-level Microsoft Excel, VBA, and Python tools by coordinating with owners and users to resolve issuesAdminister and support Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Active Directory, and storage servicesBuild, maintain, and retire Linux virtual machines in line with agreed lifecycle and operational practicesDiagnose and resolve desktop, systems, access, and connectivity incidents with explicit communication about impact and resolutionWhat You NeedExperience providing technical support in financial services,



ideally within a front office or trading-floor environmentStrong Microsoft Office support skills, including SharePoint and Active Directory administrationPractical experience supporting network and storage servicesExperience building and managing Linux virtual machinesPractical scripting and automation experience, particularly with VBA and PythonAbility to troubleshoot methodically, manage competing priorities, and resolve issues with appropriate urgencyClear, respectful communication skills and ability to work effectively with traders, operations colleagues, and distributed technology teamsAuthorization to work in AustraliaNice to HaveAbility to provide basic database support and coordinate larger database work with US technology team, including SQLHK01 estateExperience supporting front office trading platforms such as Fidessa or Triton, including configuration, troubleshooting, and user supportFamiliarity with database operations or infrastructure lifecycle managementExperience supporting storage migration or transition programs
