Your new companyAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced litigation lawyer to join the legal team of a leading global financial services organisation on a 12-month contract.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will play a key role in managing significant disputes, litigation and regulatory matters across Australia and New Zealand.
This position offers a rare opportunity to move in-house while maintaining a robust disputes focus, working closely with senior stakeholders and external counsel on matters that have a direct impact on the business.The role will see you:Managing and strategically advising on commercial disputes and litigation mattersWorking closely with regulators and responding to regulatory enquiriesBriefing and managing external counselIdentifying, assessing and escalating legal risksAdvising on matters arising under financial services legislation,



including the Corporations ActSupporting the wider business with legal and regulatory issues as requiredMentoring junior lawyers and contributing to a high-performing legal teamWhat you'll need to succeedYou will be an experienced litigation lawyer with approximately 9+ years' post-admission experience, ideally gained within a leading law firm, financial institution or regulatory workplace.You will bring:Strong commercial litigation experienceExposure to financial services, banking, insurance or regulatory disputesExperience dealing with complex regulatory frameworks and the Corporations ActExperience gained at a reputable firm and/or similar in-house roleThe ability to provide commercially pragmatic advice to senior stakeholdersExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong judgement, initiative and problem-solving capabilitiesWhat you'll get in returnRare opportunity to develop your litigation experience in-houseHigh-quality disputes and regulatory workExposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-makingCollaborative and supportive team cultureStrong work-life balanceWork for a sophisticated global financial services companyCompetitive salary package12 month fixed term contract
