Graduate Lawyer – Commercial Litigation | South-Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne About the role
Our client, a well-regarded suburban firm in Melbourne's south-east, is looking for a Graduate Lawyer to join its busy Commercial Litigation team.
Work volumes have grown recently, and the firm is ready to invest in someone at the start of their career.
The team and what you'll learn
Be mentored directly by an experienced senior practitioner who enjoys developing junior lawyers into confident, independent practitioners
Get hands-on exposure to a positive range of quality dispute files across commercial disputes, commercial leasing, franchising, and building and construction
Build your skills in drafting, file management, client communication and working alongside barristers
Progress to running your own matters as your experience grows

About you
Admitted (or about to be admitted) to practice, with 0–2 years' post-admission experience
An interest in commercial litigation and a solid grasp of legal fundamentals
Some exposure to litigation, whether through clerkship, paralegal work, a graduate program or prior employment
Strong written and verbal communication, with good client-facing skills
Sound interpersonal skills and comfort with electronic file management systems
Interest in developing business development and marketing skills over time
Looking to start or continue your career in suburban practice at a mid-tier firm
Able to provide a copy of your university transcript with your application
The firm is open-minded about candidates outside the above experience bracket who can demonstrate relevant skills.
