About the role n
You will manufacture industrial and hydraulic hose assemblies to customer requirements, provide responsive customer service and help keep daily branch operations running smoothly.
n
You'll need to be confident selecting hoses and fittings, identifying thread forms, operating crimping equipment and producing safe, accurate hose assemblies with limited supervision.
n
When the Operations Manager is away, you may also assist with coordinating daily workflow, prioritising urgent customer orders and escalating operational issues to the nominated manager.
What you'll do n
n
Manufacture industrial and hydraulic hose assemblies
n
Select the correct hoses, fittings and components
n
Identify fittings and thread forms
n
Measure, cut, prepare and crimp hoses accurately
n
Read and interpret product specifications and hydraulic schematics
n
Test hose assemblies as required
n
Complete job records and prepare orders for dispatch
n
Assist customers with product and order enquiries
n
Pick, pack, receive and dispatch stock
n
Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop
n
Support and guide less experienced team members
n




During periods when the Operations Manager is absent, you may also: n
n
Coordinate daily workshop priorities
n
Monitor urgent customer and production requirements
n
Help allocate routine work across the team
n
Communicate operational, safety and stock issues
n
Escalate significant matters to the nominated manager
n
Help ensure routine opening, closing and branch processes are completed
n
What we're looking for n
n
At least one year of hose assembly experience
n
Demonstrated ability to manufacture hose assemblies safely and accurately
n
Experience using crimpers, pressure testers and measuring equipment
n
Ability to identify hose fittings and thread forms
n
Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
n
Strong customer service and communication skills
n
Ability to organise competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
Confidence working independently and supporting other team members
n
Basic computer and data-entry skills
n
Experience with PRONTO or another ERP system would be helpful.
n
A forklift licence and MR truck licence would be advantageous.
