Position summary n
The General Gardening Assistant will provide a range of gardening, grounds maintenance and general support duties across Cultura's various locations. Working under general direction, this hands‐on role will contribute to maintaining safe, tidy and well‐presented outdoor spaces.

The position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while consistently following established procedures, secure work practices and workplace health and safety requirements.
n
This position will be contracted on a fixed‐term full time basis for 12 months.
Duties n
n
Ensure all equipment is used and maintained appropriately, including hand and power tools and gardening equipment;
n
Weeding, mulching and maintenance of garden sites;
n
Tree planting and pruning;
n
Watering of plants;
n
Installing, maintaining and repairing of irrigation systems;
n
Fertilisation of plants;
n
Provide supervision and direction to volunteers assisting with gardening tasks;
n
Perform other duties as required or requested by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Essential n
n




Current Victorian Driver's License;
n
Willingness to work as part of a team and on evenings and weekends (if required);
n
Ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures closely;
n
Willingness and ability to undertake physical work;
n
Prior gardening experience.
n
Desirable n
n
Certificate III Parks and Gardens, or equivalent, is highly desirable
n
Construction industry white card
n
Have experience working with Aged Care and people with disabilities;
n
Understand the migrant experience, with empathy and sensitivity to the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities from different cultural backgrounds;
n
Languages other than English will be highly regarded.

Employment may be subject to the satisfactory completion of a Police Criminal Record Check, Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Pre-Employment Health Declaration. Reimbursement is provided at Cultura's discretion after commencement in the role.
