Job Description
YOelement is a new premium frozen yoghurt and specialty drinks destination opening in the heart of Moonee Ponds. We're looking for an experienced Specialty Barista to join our team. The role is conveniently located within walking distance of Moonee Ponds Railway Station, with easy access to public transport.
Key responsibilities n
n
Create a variety of specialty drinks, including matcha lattes and specialty matcha drinks, iced coffees and iced lattes, Mont Blanc-style drinks, seasonal and signature drinks, and alternative milk-based beverages
n
Perform strong espresso extraction and milk-texturing
n
Set and adjust commercial grinders
n
Dial in coffee and maintain consistency throughout the day
n
Prepare iced and specialty beverages
n
Maintain solid attention to presentation and cleanliness
n
About you n
n
Minimum 1 year experience working as a barista in a busy café or specialty coffee environment
n




Strong espresso extraction and milk-texturing skills
n
Sound knowledge of La Marzocco coffee machines
n
Experience setting and adjusting commercial grinders
n
Excellent knowledge of dairy and alternative milks, including oat, almond, soy and lactose-free
n
Ability to achieve consistent texture, temperature and presentation across different milk types
n
Understanding of coffee recipes, ratios and quality control
n
Friendly, confident personality and great customer service skills
n
Experience working with matcha and creative specialty drinks is highly regarded
