The Parbati & Nihaal Pyt Ltd trading as Gulabi House Indian Restaurant & Cafe at 36 Taylor Street, Kadina ****, SA is seeking qualified Full Time Chefs to join our friendly team. Experience in a quick-paced kitchen will be highly regarded. We are looking for someone who is creative, organized, and passionate.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
n
Relevant qualifications,
n
Minimum 2 years experience in the commercial kitchen,
n
Willingness to work with a rotating roster,
n
Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays,
n
Expertise in cooking curries,
n
Expertise in Tandoori cuisine,
n
. Expertise in Indian appetizers,
n
Good communication skills,
n
Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards,
n
Ability to work unsupervised and in a team,
n
Understanding of OH&S; requirements,
n
Maintain workplace hygiene requirements,
n
Position:
n
Full-time (38 hours per week)
n
Salary: $***** plus super per annum.

Duties
n




Plan and develop menus,
n
Prepare menus with special dietary needs,
n
Be able to prepare, cook and present curries from different regions of India and Nepal,
n
Be able to prepare, cook, and present Tandoori delicacies,
n
Be able to prepare, cook and present appetizers from India and Nepal,
n
Create preparation lists for the kitchen crew,
n
Be able to manage food cost & inventory,
n
Train colleagues in job skills,
n
Receive, store, Maintain and rotate stock,
n
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety procedures,
n
Maintain food safety procedures,
n
Experience in catering will be highly advantageous,
n
