The Opportunity
As the
Assistant Supervisor Waste and Cleaning – NightShift
, you will work closely with the shift Supervisor as the second-in-charge, providing operational support andcoordinating the team to ensure the City's waste collection andstreet cleaning services are delivered safely and effectively.
Reporting to the
Supervisor Waste and Cleaning
within our
Operations team
, your responsibilitieswill primarily include:
Supporting daily operations and coordinating andsupervising the team when required;
Motivating team members and contributing to a positive,supportive and high-performing workplace culture;
Planning and scheduling waste collection and streetcleaning programs;
Coordinating plant and equipment and compiling waste dataand graffiti reports;
Maintaining safe work practices, developing Safe WorkProcedures and supporting incident investigations;
Training employees in the safe and efficient operation ofspecialised vehicles, plant and equipment; and
Operating waste collection trucks, road and footpathsweepers and high-pressure cleaning equipment.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
Experience leading and managing a small operationalteam;
Solid verbal and written communication, numeracy andtime-management skills;




The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively withina team;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence completingoperational reporting and administrative tasks;
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, publicsafety and the safe use of chemicals;
The flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, anddaytime or afternoon shifts when required; and
A current HR class Australian driver's licence.
Experience operating, or the ability to learn to operate, roadand footpath sweepers will be highly regarded.
