Job Description n
Solidbase Projects Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to manage construction projects across residential homes, commercial buildings, civil works and public spaces in Sydney. This is a full-time role suited to a capable and organised professional who can plan, coordinate and oversee construction projects from commencement through to completion.
About the Role n
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating construction projects, including the management of physical, financial and human resources involved in the construction process.
Requirements n
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:
n
n
Bachelor's degree or higher in Construction Project Management, Construction Management, Building Technology, Building Science, Civil Engineering or another highly relevant field
n
At least 2-3 years of relevant experience managing residential, commercial, industrial or civil construction projects
n
Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules, budgets, labour, materials, plant and equipment
n
Solid knowledge of construction methods, building legislation, Australian Standards, quality requirements and workplace health and safety procedures
n
Ability to read, assess and interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications and construction contracts
n
Experience coordinating architects, engineers,



consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, tradespeople and relevant authorities
n
Strong understanding of tendering, procurement, contract administration and project cost control
n
Ability to identify project risks, delays and budget variations and implement appropriate corrective actions
n
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
n
Excellent organisational, reporting and problem-solving abilities
n
Current Australian driver licence preferred
n
Relevant registration, licence or site accreditation may be required depending on the project and scope of work
n
Key Responsibilities n
n
Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate construction projects from commencement through to completion
n
Establish project plans, construction schedules, milestones, budgets and resource requirements
n
Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, technical specifications and contractual requirements
n
Determine appropriate construction methods, sequencing, labour requirements, materials, plant and equipment
n
Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials, equipment and services
n
Consult with architects, engineers,



building professionals, consultants, tradespeople and technical workers
n
Negotiate and communicate with building owners, property developers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
n
Prepare, review and contribute to tenders, quotations, contract bids and project proposals
n
Implement coordinated work programs across construction sites
n
Monitor project progress, expenditure, quality, safety, risk and compliance against approved plans and budgets
n
Ensure construction activities comply with relevant building legislation, Australian Standards, contractual requirements and workplace health and safety procedures
n
Manage and monitor the performance, quality and progress of contractors and subcontractors
n
Arrange the submission of plans, permits and supporting documents to relevant authorities
n
Coordinate required inspections, approvals and project handover activities
n
Prepare progress reports, budget updates, risk assessments and project documentation
n
Identify potential delays, cost overruns, quality issues and construction risks and implement appropriate corrective actions
n
Lead and supervise site managers, project engineers, supervisors, forepersons, subcontractors and tradespeople as required
n
Maintain effective communication with clients and key stakeholders throughout the construction process
n
Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with the required quality standards
