What we are looking for:
An exciting opportunity exists for a customer-focused and organised Stores Attendant to join Council's Procurement and Stores team.
In this role, you will provide efficient stores and inventory services that support operational and corporate business units across Council.
You will play a key role in ensuring materials, equipment and stock are accurately received, stored, managed and distributed while maintaining high levels of customer service and inventory integrity.
What your day will look like:
Receive, inspect, record, store and distribute inventory, goods and equipment.
Process purchasing, receipting and stores transactions using Council systems.
Maintain inventory records and assist with stocktakes and reconciliations.
Monitor hazardous chemical registers and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information.
Provide advice and support on stores processes, stock availability and procurement requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of stores and inventory management practices.
What you'll need for success:
Current High Risk Work Licence - Forklift (LF).
Valid Queensland Class C or CA Driver Licence.
Demonstrated experience in stores, warehousing, inventory control or procurement support.
Ability to accurately process inventory, purchasing and receipting transactions using electronic systems.
Well-developed customer service and communication skills.




Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to meet operational demands.
Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise sound judgement within established procedures.
What's nice to have:
Experience using TechnologyOne or similar ERP/inventory management systems.
Experience in a local government environment.
LR, MR or HR Driver Licence.
Experience undertaking stocktakes and inventory reconciliations.
