Aspire Health & Metabolic is a specialist‐led cardiometabolic and obesity health service based in Moonee Ponds, Melbourne.
We provide structured, evidence‐based care focused on obesity management, cardiometabolic risk assessment, prevention and treatment, with the aim of improving long‐term health, function and quality of life.
Our model brings together specialist physicians, cardiology, dietetics and exercise physiology within a structured multidisciplinary program, combining medical management with sustainable lifestyle intervention, risk‐factor modification and support for patients to become more active and empowered in managing their health.
Aspire is seeking a Physician (FRACP) with an interest in cardiometabolic medicine, obesity, risk assessment and prevention to join our growing multidisciplinary service.
We welcome expressions of interest from:
General Physicians with an interest in cardiometabolic medicine, obesity and prevention
dual‐trained physicians or physicians whose specialty complements cardiometabolic and obesity care, including Endocrinology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Respiratory/Sleep Medicine.
Aspire provides coordinated care for patients with obesity and cardiometabolic disease, including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, obstructive sleep apnoea, metabolic liver disease and associated metabolic comorbidities.
The service has a strong focus on obesity management, cardiometabolic risk assessment, early identification of disease and prevention of future cardiovascular and metabolic complications.
The role is designed to be flexible, with opportunities ranging from a half‐day session per fortnight through to 1 day per week, depending on availability and interest.




There is scope to increase sessions over time as the service grows.
Aspire provides consulting facilities, administrative support and an established multidisciplinary clinical team.
Telehealth consultations can also form part of the role.

The position may particularly suit physicians seeking flexible private practice, including recently fellowed physicians looking to establish or expand their private practice.
The opportunity would suit a physician who:
holds FRACP qualifications in General Medicine, dual physician training, or a relevant physician specialty
has a clinical interest in obesity, cardiometabolic health, risk assessment and prevention
enjoys managing patients with obesity and associated cardiovascular, metabolic, renal, hepatic, respiratory and sleep‐related conditions, with a broader interest in improving wellbeing, functional capacity and quality of life, and supporting patients to become more active, confident and empowered in managing their health
has an interest in early disease detection, cardiovascular and metabolic risk stratification, preventative medicine and long‐term risk‐factor modification
would like to establish or expand a private outpatient practice within an existing multidisciplinary specialist service
values collaborative care across medical specialties and allied health.
