Join a Growing Engineering Company and Make a Real Impact on Workplace Safety

JGF Engineering WA Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated, experienced and hands-on HSEQ / HSE Advisor to join our team in Perth.

We are an established Western Australian engineering business specialising in steel fabrication, welding, pipeline infrastructure and mechanical installation services across the water, mining and industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HSEQ professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, takes a practical approach to workplace safety and wants to play an important role in maintaining and continually improving our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems.

About the Role

Reporting to Upper Management, you will support HSEQ activities across our workshop, office and project sites.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Integrated Management System (IMS), supporting compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and ensuring our people, processes and projects meet relevant legislative, regulatory and client requirements.

This is a hands-on position combining workplace safety, compliance management, employee training, incident investigation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits and risk assessments across workshop and project operations.

- Maintain and continually improve the company's Integrated Management System (IMS).

- Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.

- Develop, review and maintain SWMS, JSAs, SOPs and HSEQ documentation.

- Coordinate incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.

- Maintain employee training, competency and licensing records, including the company Skills Matrix.

- Coordinate employee inductions, subcontractor compliance and project mobilisation requirements.

- Assist with internal and external certification audits and client compliance assessments.

- Monitor environmental compliance, hazard management and workplace risk controls.

- Support drug and alcohol testing coordination and workplace fitness-for-work requirements.

- Assist project management teams with client-specific HSEQ documentation and requirements.

- Prepare HSEQ performance reports, maintain registers and monitor improvement actions.

- Promote a positive safety culture through consultation, coaching and engagement with employees and supervisors.

- Provide practical HSEQ advice to management, workshop personnel and site-based teams.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, approachable, organised and capable of balancing compliance requirements with the practical realities of engineering and construction operations.

To be successful, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent relevant qualification.

- Demonstrated experience in an HSEQ or HSE Advisor position within engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, construction, mining or industrial operations.

- Sound knowledge of Western Australian WHS legislation and regulatory requirements.

- Experience conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.

- Working knowledge of ISO management systems and associated compliance requirements.

- Experience developing and maintaining HSEQ documentation, procedures and registers.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

- Competency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic document management.

- Current Australian driver's licence.

Highly Regarded:

- Diploma of Work Health and Safety.

- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualifications.

- Experience in welding, steel fabrication, pipeline construction or mechanical installation.

- Experience supporting ISO certification and surveillance audits.

- Knowledge of QA/QC processes and engineering quality documentation.

- Experience maintaining employee competency and training matrices.

What We Offer

- Full-time employment with an established Western Australian engineering company.

- A diverse role across workshop, manufacturing and project site environments.

- Direct engagement with management and operational teams.

- The opportunity to take ownership of HSEQ initiatives and drive meaningful improvements.

- A supportive, practical and team-oriented working environment.

- Exposure to projects across the water infrastructure, mining and industrial sectors.

Why Join JGF Engineering?

At JGF Engineering, we believe workplace safety, quality and operational performance go hand in hand.

If you are a proactive HSEQ professional who takes pride in making workplaces safer and more efficient, we would like to hear from you.
