Overview
Alchemy Partners is an Australian-owned and led boutique consulting firm that partners with clients to improve business performance through better collaboration. We work with our clients to design and deliver solutions to complex challenges, helping them achieve their transformation goals and drive sustainable results.
We are seeking an experienced Test Coordinator / Business Analyst to support a nationally significant Federal Government technology program involving multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited to a pragmatic, organised and collaborative professional who can quickly get up to speed in an established project environment, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and support the transition towards national implementation.
The successful candidate will bring strong business analysis and coordination skills, sound technical aptitude and the ability to work calmly and effectively across business and technical teams.
About the Role
Working within the Technical Delivery workstream, you will play an important role in coordinating testing activities, supporting business users and ensuring issues, actions and decisions are captured, communicated and progressed effectively.
You will join a well-established project approaching a critical delivery phase. We are looking for someone who is comfortable picking up work already in progress, understanding agreed requirements and decisions, and focusing on what needs to happen next rather than revisiting work that has already been completed.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical delivery teams and representatives from States and Territories to support UAT, manage information and help maintain delivery momentum.
As the program progresses, the role is expected to evolve towards implementation coordination and supporting national rollout activities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinating UAT activities, including planning, scheduling, participant engagement, issue management and follow-up.
- Providing hands-on support to business users and project teams during testing, ensuring activities run smoothly and issues are promptly addressed.
- Capturing and documenting testing outcomes, observations, defects, actions and decisions, and coordinating their resolution through established project processes.
- Working with technical teams to understand testing progress, dependencies and issues, translating technical discussions into clear, actionable information for business stakeholders.
- Supporting the preparation of UAT materials, testing schedules, progress updates and reporting.
- Maintaining clear documentation and traceability between agreed business requirements, testing activities and outcomes.
- Engaging collaboratively with other project workstreams, business representatives and jurisdictional stakeholders to coordinate activities and resolve dependencies.
- Identifying and escalating delivery risks, issues and emerging concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
- Supporting business readiness, implementation planning and coordination of activities associated with the broader national rollout.
This is primarily a coordination and business analysis role, rather than a technical testing position. You will not be expected to develop testing tools or personally execute technical test scripts. Your focus will be on supporting those undertaking testing and ensuring activities, information and issues are effectively coordinated.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a capable and dependable qualified who combines strong analytical skills with a practical, delivery-focused mindset.
You will be comfortable working in a complex environment with highly experienced stakeholders, bringing structure, clarity and a calm approach to the work.
You Will Bring:
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, Test Coordinator or UAT Coordinator.
- Experience coordinating UAT or business acceptance testing activities, including managing issues, actions, dependencies and stakeholder communications.
- Strong business analysis skills, including the ability to interpret requirements, understand business processes and document outcomes clearly.
- Good technical aptitude and confidence participating in discussions with technology teams, without needing to be a technical specialist.
- Excellent organisational skills,
attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple activities and competing priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work across business teams, technical teams, project workstreams and external stakeholders.
- A calm, measured and collaborative approach, particularly when working with diverse stakeholders and competing perspectives.
- Sound judgement and critical thinking, balanced with the pragmatism to work within established project decisions, processes and delivery timeframes.
- The ability to quickly understand an unfamiliar project environment, work independently and maintain momentum with minimal direction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in translating complex discussions into clear actions and practical outcomes.
Highly Desirable Experience:
- Working on large-scale Commonwealth Government technology or business transformation programs.
- Supporting national implementations or rollouts involving States and Territories as delivery or implementation partners.
- Coordinating activities across government agencies, jurisdictions, external service providers or other complex stakeholder networks.
- Experience in Health, Education, Social Services, regulatory environments or other nationally coordinated government programs.
Why Join Alchemy Partners?
We offer:
- The opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant government program with meaningful outcomes.
- A hands-on role working across business, technology and implementation activities.
- Exposure to complex, multi-jurisdictional delivery environments.
- A collaborative, supportive environment that values practical thinking and getting things done.
- Competitive contract rates.
- The opportunity to work with a values-led boutique consultancy where collaboration, curiosity and delivering results are central to how we operate.
Security & Location Requirements
- Canberra-based role, with hybrid working arrangements subject to client agreement.
- Minimum Baseline Security Clearance required.
- Maximum 37.5 hours per week.
