We collaborate with funders and changemakers to support and grow the philanthropy ecosystem. Our job is to bring people, ideas and resources together so that generosity can flow with purpose and impact. We do this by:
- Convening, connecting and engaging members
- Amplifying insights and knowledge exchange to enhance philanthropic practice
- Influencing the use of diverse resources to create impact
- Advocating for policy outcomes that strengthen the philanthropic ecosystem
Role Purpose
This is a rare opportunity to join Philanthropy Australia at a pivotal moment.
As we deliver our current vision and Strategy 2033, we're building a bigger, more connected and more influential giving community. Following the success and energy of Conference 2026 in Brisbane, we are seeking an exceptional relationship builder, networker and strategic leader to grow philanthropy across Queensland and the Northern Territory.
You will be the face of Philanthropy Australia in the region, cultivating deep relationships with funders, trusts, foundations, advisers, intermediaries and emerging givers. You will help strengthen our membership, grow our influence and connect people, ideas and opportunities.
Working as part of a nationally connected team, you will combine local leadership with a national outlook, helping translate Philanthropy Australia's vision into meaningful impact for members and the region.
What we're looking for
You'll be a strategic relationship builder who thrives on connecting people and ideas. You'll bring credibility, curiosity and influence,
along with a genuine passion for strengthening the culture and practice of giving in Australia.
What you'll bring...
- Significant experience building and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
- A track record of growing networks, partnerships, membership programs or business development opportunities.
- Robust strategic thinking skills.
- Experience leading people and fostering high-performing teams.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation and networking capabilities.
- A robust understanding of, or interest in, grantmaking and the social impact sector.
How to Apply
1. Please provide a cover letter outlining your interest and suitability for the role, and submit it along with your CV before the closing date.
2. However, please note that we will be reviewing applications as they are received and may commence interviews at any time. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly, as we may fill the role before a formal closing date is set.
3. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our People and Culture Team at ••••@philanthropy.org.au.
Applications close: 30 October 2026
Philanthropy Australia welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates of all backgrounds and experiences, including First Nations people, people with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ people, and people of all ages. We strive to create a diverse, safe, and inclusive workforce for all team members. We believe in building an inclusive workforce that recognises human difference as a strength and supports our vision for a generous and inclusive Australia. We have commenced our reconciliation journey through our Reflect RAP, and with the support of our First Nations Governance Committee, are taking the next steps to further embed reconciliation initiatives into Philanthropy Australia’s business strategy.
