About the role

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, safety, and strategic direction of the Distribution Centre. The role ensures the effective management of all warehouse operations including inbound receiving, inventory control, replenishment, picking, dispatch, transport coordination, workforce planning, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Operations Manager leads supervisors, team leaders, inventory personnel, trainers, and support functions to achieve operational excellence while delivering exceptional service outcomes, productivity, inventory accuracy, and safety performance. The role balances strategic planning with operational execution to ensure the distribution centre operates efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.

Key responsibilities

- Provide overall leadership of warehouse operations across all shifts

- Develop and execute operational plans to achieve service, productivity, and cost objectives

- Manage and develop Supervisors, Team Leaders, Inventory Controllers, Trainers, and operational support staff

- Establish and monitor operational KPIs across all warehouse functions





- Ensure inventory integrity is maintained across all warehouse locations

- Lead the site's WHS strategy and safety culture

- Oversee transport planning and dispatch operations

- Identify and implement warehouse improvement initiatives

- Manage warehouse labour and operational expenditure budgets

- Maintain effective communication with senior management and key stakeholders

About you

- Minimum 5 years experience in a Warehouse, Distribution Centre, or Logistics Management role

- Proven leadership of large warehouse teams operating across multiple shifts

- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including receiving, replenishment, inventory management, picking, dispatch, and transport

- Experience managing operational budgets and labour planning

- Solid analytical and problem-solving capability

- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms

- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvement initiatives

- Strong people leadership and performance management experience

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills
