Product Engineer / Technical Product Owner — International SME Fintech Summary
- Role: Product Engineer / Technical Product Owner
- Location: Melbourne, Australia — you’ll need to be commutable to the office
- Work arrangement: Full-time, office-based; Australian work rights required and no sponsorship available
- Compensation: AUD 85,000–100,000 + super + bonus eligibility
This is a Melbourne office role working across live customer and partner journeys, so fluent English and the ability to work clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders matter. You’ll join a fast-growing international fintech that provides flexible funding to SMEs, with operations across APAC and Europe and more than $5B funded to date.
What you'll do
- You'll own release planning, backlog prioritisation, UAT, and post-launch support for changes across websites, forms, and integrations.
- You'll build and maintain lightweight full-stack applications, custom forms, and front-end components that support conversion and product delivery goals.
- You'll develop and manage automations and integrations across internal systems, CRMs, APIs, and the broader product suite.
- You'll use product data, user analysis, and journey mapping to improve conversion, submission outcomes, and the customer and partner experience.
- You'll monitor website and form uptime, errors, and incidents, then triage and resolve issues quickly when something breaks.
- You'll coordinate offshore developers and internal stakeholders while keeping documentation current and meeting privacy, security, SEO, and regional regulatory requirements across nine markets.
Who we're looking for
You’re likely a hands-on junior-to-mid-level web product operator who likes owning a live digital journey end to end, not just writing tickets or only building in isolation.
Must-haves:
- You’ve already owned a live web or digital product area with real responsibility for releases, production issues, and day-to-day performance.
- You have hands-on experience across websites, forms, integrations, and lightweight apps, including front-end customisation and working closely with developers and stakeholders to ship changes.
- You know how to use product analytics and tracking tools such as PostHog, FullStory, GTM, and GA4 to understand behaviour and improve conversion.
- You’ve worked with APIs, system or partner integrations, and automation tools such as Zapier, n8n, and AWS Lambda.
- You’re comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and MCP servers, and you take care with details like tracking, accessibility, SEO, and data handling.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with Next.js, plus supporting infrastructure or deployment tools such as AWS, Vercel, and GitHub.
- Experience with Webflow and/or Figma for landing pages, CMS changes, and design collaboration.
- Exposure to multi-step application or submission forms, including validation, conditional logic, and CRM or API submission flows.
- Experience in conversion-led or regulated digital environments where privacy, sensitive data, and partner integrations matter.
- Experience owning multi-site or multi-market web estates and coordinating work with offshore or distributed teams.
