About the role

Tiro Industries is launching its own in-house Asphalt Division, and we're looking for an experienced, hands-on Asphalter to help build and lead it.

This is a hands-on role, initially focused on small hand-laid asphalt jobs, patching and utility reinstatements, with the goal of growing into larger-scale asphalt works with bigger crews, plant and equipment. You'll have the opportunity to help shape Tiro's Asphalt Division from the ground up and grow with it as we move into larger projects.

We’re looking for someone who can bring their experience and industry knowledge to the table, helping us train our team, establish the right processes, source materials and equipment, and share the tips and tricks that come from years in the industry.

This isn’t just another asphalt job. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape Tiro’s Asphalt Division from the ground up and grow with it as we move into larger projects.

Negotiable salary and company vehicle, depending on experience, industry knowledge and what you can bring to the division.

Key responsibilities

- Perform hand-laid asphalt work on small jobs, patching and utility reinstatements

- Lead and train a small crew





- Help establish the right processes for the division

- Source materials and equipment

- Share industry knowledge and experience with the team

- Contribute to growing the division into larger-scale asphalt works

About you

- Solid hands-on asphalt experience

- Excellent hand-laying, finishing and pedestrian roller skills

- Good knowledge of road construction and asphalt specifications

- Ability to lead and train a small crew

- Knowledge of asphalt products, materials, suppliers and equipment

- Good industry contacts and relationships

- Access to or relationships with larger asphalt crews/resources highly regarded

- Takes pride in quality workmanship
