Our client is a leading national law firm with an impressive presence across Australia. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, commercially minded and highly organised Finance Officer – Accounts Receivable & Credit Control to join its established finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their responsibilities, building relationships with stakeholders and playing an integral role in the financial performance of a successful national business.

Working within a collaborative and professional environment, you will have responsibility for managing debtor accounts, coordinating billing activities, monitoring outstanding payments and ensuring the effective operation of the firm's accounts receivable function.

Previous experience within a law firm or qualified services environment would be highly regarded; however, legal industry experience is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates from other industries who bring strong accounts receivable, credit control and collections experience.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the wider finance team and legal professionals, you will play a key role in maintaining effective credit control processes, managing debtor relationships and supporting the firm's financial operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing day-to-day accounts receivable and collections activities across the firm's debtor ledger.

- Proactively monitoring outstanding accounts and following up overdue payments in a professional and timely manner.

- Preparing and distributing debtor statements,



payment reminders and client correspondence.

- Managing group debtors and monitoring client credit limits.

- Liaising directly with Partners, fee earners and internal stakeholders regarding outstanding accounts, payment arrangements and billing matters.

- Coordinating the monthly billing process and ensuring final invoices are issued accurately and within required deadlines.

- Preparing fortnightly debtor reports, collection updates and aged debt analysis.

- Identifying overdue or high-risk accounts and escalating matters appropriately to the Finance Manager.

- Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies, payment queries and outstanding account issues.

- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.

- Identifying opportunities to improve collections processes, debtor management and overall efficiency.

About You

We are seeking a capable and proactive finance professional who takes pride in their work, enjoys building positive relationships and has the confidence to manage accounts receivable responsibilities in a busy professional environment.

Ideally, you will offer:

- A minimum of three years' experience in accounts receivable, credit control, collections or a similar finance position.

- A sound understanding of debtor management, credit control procedures and collection processes.

- Strong numerical ability, exceptional accuracy and excellent attention to detail.

- Confidence communicating with clients, senior professionals and internal stakeholders.

- A professional, diplomatic and persistent approach to managing outstanding accounts.

- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.





- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive finance team.

- A high level of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.

A qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or business administration would also be viewed favourably.
