Solar Installer / Trade Assistant – Roofing Team Leader

Sun Direct Power is a growing solar and battery installation company based in Perth. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Solar Installer / Trade Assistant to lead our residential solar roofing installation team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, working alongside trade assistants and electrical apprentices under the supervision of the Lead Electrician on site.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the roofing team during residential solar panel installations.

- Install solar panel mounting systems, roof brackets, rails and solar panels.

· Run DC and AC cabling safely and efficiently under the supervision of Team Lead Electrician.

- Allocate tasks and guide trade assistants and apprentices to ensure efficient teamwork.

- Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently and to high-quality standards.

- Coordinate with the Lead Electrician to meet daily installation targets.

- Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe worksite.

- Assist in training and developing junior team members.

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in residential solar panel installation,



particularly rooftop installations.

- Ability to lead and supervise a small roofing team.

- Valuable understanding of roof mounting systems and safe working practices.

- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.

- Valid driver's licence and White Card.

- Working at Heights training/certification.

- Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering quality workmanship.
