About the Role

Balnarring Preserves is a premium, spray-free blueberry grower located on the Mornington Peninsula, supplying fresh blueberries to local retailers, farm shops and customers.

We are seeking a reliable, motivated and hardworking person to join our team for the upcoming blueberry harvest season.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes initiative and is comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.

The business owner will generally be in office; however, we are looking for someone confident, responsible and capable of independently overseeing daily farm operations when required.

This is a physically demanding outdoor position during the Victorian summer (December–March). Applicants must be comfortable undertaking repetitive manual tasks, standing and bending for extended periods, and working in varying summer weather conditions, including hot days, subject to appropriate safety measures.

Key Responsibilities

- Harvesting fresh blueberries to high-quality standards.

- Sorting, weighing, packing and preparing customer orders.

- Coordinating deliveries and distributing fruit to local retailers and customers.

- General farm maintenance, including weeding, watering and caring for blueberry plants.

- Assisting with daily harvest planning and monitoring fruit quality.

- Supervising and coordinating a small team of seasonal harvest workers when required.

- Independently managing daily harvesting, packing and distribution activities when the owner is unavailable.

- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Is reliable, motivated, hardworking and takes pride in their work.

- Enjoys working outdoors and is comfortable with physically demanding tasks.





- Is physically capable of performing repetitive harvesting, bending, lifting and standing for extended periods, with reasonable adjustments where required.

- Can work independently, show initiative and take responsibility for daily operations.

- Has good organisational skills and attention to detail.

- Is confident supervising and coordinating a small team when required.

- Holds a current driver's licence (essential).

- Is available for occasional weekend and public holiday work.

- Can accommodate short-notice changes to working days and hours due to weather and harvest conditions.

- Has previous farming, horticulture, harvesting or team leadership experience (desirable but not essential).

- Has valid Australian working rights.

Hours & Employment Conditions

- Casual seasonal employment from December 2026 to March 2027.

- Approximately 30 hours per week, depending on harvest requirements and weather conditions.

- $35 per hour plus superannuation, subject to the applicable award classification and entitlements.

- Working hours may vary, including early starts, weekends and public holidays.

- Blueberries cannot be harvested in wet weather, meaning shifts may be changed or cancelled at short notice, subject to applicable employment conditions.

- Applicants must be flexible and available during peak harvesting periods.

- Work will be managed in accordance with appropriate heat-safety procedures.

Please note: This location does not qualify as specified regional work for second- or third-year Working Holiday Maker visa eligibility under the standard regional postcode criteria.
