Are you an experienced claims qualified looking to develop your career in financial lines and delegated authority? HDI Global is seeking a Claims Adjuster – Delegated Authority to join our Sydney-based team and manage claims from initial assessment through to resolution.

About the role

Reporting to the Claims Manager – Delegated Authority, you will manage and process financial lines claims within the delegated authority portfolio. You will work with claimants, brokers, underwriters, adjusters, surveyors and other stakeholders to deliver fair, timely and well-reasoned claims outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Manage financial lines claims from notification through to resolution, including assessing coverage, liability and damages.
- Review policy documents, claim submissions and supporting evidence to determine validity and entitlement.
- Conduct investigations, gather and evaluate information, interview relevant parties and consult experts when required.
- Prepare clear, accurate correspondence, including claim decisions, settlement offers and denial letters.




- Assist with the review and processing of monthly trust reconciliations for delegated authority business.
- Maintain accurate claim records and prepare reports, summaries and performance analysis.
- Provide professional, responsive service to brokers, claimants, clients and other stakeholders.
- Ensure claims are handled in line with company policies, regulatory obligations and legal requirements.
- Identify and escalate potential fraud, suspicious activity and emerging risks.
- Collaborate with Claims, Underwriting and Legal colleagues to achieve effective outcomes.

About you

- A minimum of three years’ experience in an insurance claims role.
- Proven ability to assess and manage claims, supported by a sound understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or current study toward a TAFE, ANZIIF or university qualification in business, insurance, administration or a related field.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Strong organisation and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
