We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our Italian-focused, pizza-led culinary team in Redfern. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for maintaining the high standards of our hospitality and catering services. The Head Chef will be responsible for menu creation, kitchen management, and ensuring exceptional food quality, contributing significantly to our guests’ dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current food trends.
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling to ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain high quality and consistency.
- Control food costs and manage inventory to optimise profitability.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in similar kitchen operations i.e., Italian/Pizza focus
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification in hospitality management.
- Solid leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative flair and a passion for food and cooking.
