Azooa is preparing a response for five APS6-equivalent Wintel Infrastructure Engineer opportunities supporting the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD).

Help secure the infrastructure that supports digital services and contribute to security uplift across the Australian Government.

- Location: ACT or VIC — onsite. Arrangements depend on operational needs; working from home is not guaranteed.
- Estimated start: 1 February 2027.
- Initial term: 12 months, with two 12-month extension options.
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week.
- Clearance: Current NV2 or TSPV required at submission.

Responsibilities
- Implement security controls to improve security posture.
- Develop standard operating procedures for security and administrative tasks.
- Facilitate and participate in design and remediation workshops.
- Prototype security configurations to support technical advice.
- At least five years of technical cyber security experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with a security focus on enterprise systems.
- Experience implementing one or more Essential Eight Mitigation Strategies.




- Scripting or application development experience to automate system administration or vulnerability assessment tasks, or develop tools to assess or remediate cyber risks.
- Cloud systems, such as Azure or AWS.
- Evaluating and implementing remediation activities associated with detecting and mitigating Active Directory compromises.

Security and suitability

Candidates must already hold current NV2 or TSPV clearance. Successful candidates must complete ASD’s Organisation Suitability Assessment before commencement. ASD allocates candidates to work areas according to operational needs; suitable candidates may enter a merit pool if no immediate requirement exists.

Rate guidance

Azooa’s recommended value-for-money position is under AUD $157.15 per hour including superannuation. Higher rates will be considered case by case, based on relevant experience, specialist skills, clearance and role alignment. Please state whether GST applies.
