We are seeking a Project HSE Officer to join our team at DGH. This casual position as a HSE Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and promoting health, safety, and environmental standards across our project. This is a key position that directly contributes to our commitment to operational excellence and the wellbeing of our workforce and surrounding environment.

Key responsibilities

- Conducting regular health, safety, and environmental audits and inspections across operational sites
- Implementing, and monitoring HSE policies, procedures, and compliance programmes
- Maintaining accurate HSE documentation, records, and reporting systems
- Liaising with regulatory authorities and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards
- Conducting risk assessments and contributing to the development of safe work method statements
- Promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging employee engagement in HSE initiatives
- Monitoring environmental impacts and supporting environmental management plans
- Supporting emergency preparedness and response protocols

What we're looking for

- Minimum Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Demonstrated experience working as an HSE Officer or in a similar health, safety,



and environmental role within the mining, resources, or energy sector
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld)
- Proficiency in conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and risk assessments
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with port operations or coal handling facilities is highly desirable
