Your new role
Join the Haematology team within the Division of Cancer Services at Queensland Health, where your administrative expertise will help support senior leaders and contribute to effective healthcare service delivery. In this role, you will provide confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Director and Deputy Director of Haematology, ensuring the smooth coordination of daily operations in a busy healthcare environment.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, including correspondence, document preparation, data entry, filing and database maintenance.
- Managing diaries, emails, appointments, meetings and travel arrangements for senior staff.
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, arranging facilities and confidentially recording minutes.
- Acting as a key point of contact for incoming and outgoing communications, responding to enquiries and supporting patients, staff and other stakeholders.
- Assisting with clinical correspondence, medical report transcription, patient information retrieval, staff rosters, onboarding and departmental HR administration.
About You You are a highly organised and proactive administrative professional who takes pride in delivering accurate, confidential and customer-focused support. With strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities,
you will build positive working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment. You understand the importance of discretion, professionalism and respectful service when working in a healthcare setting.
What You Will Bring
- Demonstrated administrative and secretarial skills, including diary management, meeting coordination, document preparation and data management.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities, with the capacity to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle enquiries sensitively and maintain skilled relationships.
- Strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality, and the ability to exercise initiative when resolving problems.
- A willingness to learn medical terminology and navigate patient records to support clinical correspondence and administrative processes.

About Us The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Oncology Services is a highly developed, multidisciplinary cancer service in one of Australia's largest teaching hospitals. The hospital provides a comprehensive adult cancer service encompassing haematological, surgical, and medical and radiation oncology specialities, including immunotherapy, cell therapy, and cancer vaccines and autologous stem cell transplantation.
