The role As the Advisor you will play a key role in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of APRA's internal governance framework. Apply governance expertise and sound judgement to facilitate effective oversight, decision-making and accountability across APRA's executive governance committees.

Reporting to the Head of Governance, the role works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure governance arrangements are aligned to APRA's strategic objectives and regulatory obligations.

The team The Governance team sits within the Strategy and Governance Branch of the Chief of Staff and Enterprise Services Division (ChES). ChES plays a vital role in the effective functioning of the organisation and comprises a range of critical functions, including strategy and governance, corporate affairs, regulatory affairs, finance, project delivery, facilities, and people and culture.

Key responsibilities

- Support executive decision making by coordinating committees, managing agendas and providing timely and accurate information;
- Provide advice to business areas to ensure effective presentation of agenda items, including alignment to strategic priorities and timely consideration by the appropriate committee;
- Monitor governance decisions and actions to support accountability and timely implementation;
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes to ensure effective governance practices; and




- Support compliance with governance requirements and regulatory obligations.

About you

- High degree of discretion and integrity for confidential information;
- Sound judgement, including the ability to identify governance risk and pragmatic solutions that balance business needs;
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and experience preparing materials for senior stakeholders;
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills;
- Collaborative team player who can work across various business areas;
- Strong organisational and project management skills;
- Experience within a regulatory or financial services setting; and
- Experience with board management software, corporate governance principles and secretariat processes would be highly regarded.
