Aged Care Educator - Clinical

Casual Opportunity

Join St Basil's Homes NSW/ACT and play a key role in shaping the capability, confidence and clinical excellence of our workforce.

Reporting to the Education Manager, this role will work across our residential aged care homes and services to design, deliver and evaluate high-quality clinical education programs that support safe, person-centred care and continuous improvement.

This position requires regular travel between our sites to ensure a consistent and engaging learning experience for our workforce.

About the Role

As the Aged Care Educator - Clinical, you will be responsible for developing and delivering evidence-based education and training programs that enhance clinical practice, workforce capability and regulatory compliance across St Basil's.

Working collaboratively with operational leaders, clinical teams and key stakeholders, you will support staff development through education, coaching, mentorship and competency-based learning programs.

Key responsibilities include

- Assessing learning and development needs across the clinical workforce
- Developing and maintaining annual clinical education plans and training calendars
- Delivering engaging education through face-to-face, online and blended learning formats
- Facilitating orientation and induction programs for new employees
- Conducting competency assessments and skills validation
- Auditing clinical practices including wound care, medication management, infection control and manual handling
- Monitoring education compliance and mandatory training completion
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities
- Reviewing and updating clinical policies, procedures and educational resources
- Generating reports on training outcomes, compliance and workforce capability




- Promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organisation

About You You are passionate about improving the quality of aged care services through education and workforce development. You have strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills and enjoy mentoring and supporting others to achieve their full potential.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Recent clinical experience within aged care (3-5 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and contemporary clinical practice
- Experience developing and delivering education and training programs
- Ability to coach, mentor and support staff at all levels
- Strong presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Experience conducting clinical audits, competency assessments and compliance monitoring
- Excellent organisational, time management and project coordination skills
- Experience using learning management systems and digital learning platforms
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between St Basil's sites
- Access to a reliable vehicle and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance
- Full Australian work rights

The following would be highly regarded:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or qualifications in Adult Education
- Experience in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
- Experience supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities




- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles
