Upper Coomera

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Apprentice

Upper Coomera, Gold Coast | Full-time Current roster: 38-hour week across Tuesday–Friday An apprenticeship is four years. Where you spend that time and what you learn along the way matters.

TemperCool Air-Conditioning is an established residential air-conditioning business based in Upper Coomera. We're looking to welcome an additional apprentice to our team — someone in their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year who wants to learn the trade properly and build a career they can be proud of.

We're a small team, so being organised matters. We keep things simple, communicate clearly and make sure everyone knows the role they play, what's expected of them and what they're working towards.

We work hard, but we also genuinely enjoy what we do. We care about our clients, the work we put out and the people we work alongside.

What you'll be learning

This is a residential air-conditioning role working across the Gold Coast. As your skills and experience develop, you'll gain exposure across:

- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Repairs and component replacement
- Servicing and maintenance
- Split and multi-system air-conditioning installations
- Warranty work
- Working directly with homeowners

You'll learn the technical side of the trade, but also how to communicate with clients, stay organised, solve problems and take pride in the work you put your name to. Some days you'll be learning something completely new. Other days you'll be repeating things you've already been shown and learning to do them better.

That's all part of becoming a good tradesperson.

What matters to us

We don't expect an apprentice to know everything. We do expect you to want to learn. Reliability. Turn up when you're meant to and ready for the day.

Coachability. Listen, take feedback and be willing to put it into practice.

Curiosity. Ask questions and want to understand why something works, rather than simply being told what to do.

Care. Take pride in your work and care about doing things properly.

Communication. Be respectful, approachable and able to communicate with the people you work alongside and our clients.

Ownership. If you don't know something, ask. If you make a mistake, be honest about it so we can work through it. As you learn, start recognising what needs doing without always waiting to be asked.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the room or have everything figured out. We're looking for someone honest, reliable and willing to put the effort into becoming good at their trade.

What you can expect from us

We'll take your apprenticeship seriously too. You'll get hands-on experience, clear expectations and honest feedback. We'll teach you, answer your questions and give you opportunities to keep developing as your capability grows.

As you become more confident and capable,

the level of work you're exposed to and the responsibility you're trusted with will grow too.

We also see TAFE as an key part of your development. If you come across something there that you'd like more hands-on experience with, talk to us. Where we can, we'll help you build on it in the field.

We're an organised business, but we're still people. We communicate, we help each other out and if something isn't working, we'd rather talk about it than let it become a problem.

You'll know where you stand, what you're doing well and what you need to work on next.

Our goal is simple: to give you the opportunity and support to become a capable tradesperson who understands what they're doing, takes pride in their work and has built a career they can be proud of.
