Hader Clinic Queensland is driven by a vision to deliver a high quality AOD rehabilitation treatment program to support individuals to move from alcohol and other drug use to abstinence. While abstinence is the goal the Hader Clinic Queensland also aims to support those individuals to become fully functional members of their family and the broader community.

Queensland believes that through effective alcohol or drug rehabilitation, individuals can become productive people who can achieve their full potential, and find or rediscover their purpose in life.

Hader Group Queensland operates a 25 bed private AOD detox hospital and a 30 bed residential rehabilitation facility located in Gympie QLD. This role is in Gympie.

1. Role Summary and Description of Duties:

- Support and encourage clients in the therapeutic community daily
- Undertake formal face to face assessments of clients, including all necessary paperwork
- Prepare Care Plans and case manage as directed by Senior Support Worker and Program Coordinator
- Facilitate and participate in house/group meetings
- Facilitate STEP group sessions
- Facilitate Psychoeducation workshop sessions to clients as required
- Facilitate client linkages with community and self-help support groups and services.
- Monitor urine analysis results, as needed.
- Under direction from the Program Coordinator be responsible for both inward and outward referrals.
- Liaise with clinical team as required to coordinate care appropriately, to ensure consistent and congruent treatment.
- Assist with facilitation and patient support in Hader Clinic Queensland Private Hospital
- Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as required




- Work as a member of a team and ensure clear communication and willingness to address issues or conflicts as they arise with a view to a positive resolution within the therapeutic community.
- Follow all quality and WHS procedures and ensuring all records are properly maintained.
- Maintain a drug free and safe environment.

General

- To become familiar with literature that will develop knowledge of addiction and the skills in relation to facilitation and guiding groups.
- To promote an atmosphere conducive to individual and group health.
- Support residents during their residential rehabilitation program

Key Selection Criteria:

- Personal lived experience of alcohol / drug addiction and recovery through a 12-step fellowship program.
- The ability to work with and address the needs of both women and men in early recovery.
- Previous experience working in drug and alcohol or related fields preferred but not essential.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build rapport with clients who have substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis problems and chaotic lifestyles.
- A knowledge of and skill in utilising community networks, supports and services.
- Understanding of and experience in case management
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- knowledge of legal systems such as bail and parole

Highly Desirable:

- Minimum of Certificate IV in Community Services, AOD and Mental Health
- Competency in the use of word processing and other relevant computer applications.
- The ability to deal appropriately with issues of power and dependency in worker/client relationships.
- Understanding of social justice and gender issues.
- Experience: Essential
- Capacity to provide a high standard of monitoring, evaluation, problem solving, decision making and case management.
- Positive interpersonal, communication and report writing skills
- Current drivers licence and live or within local commute to Gympie; QLD north of Sunshine Coast.
