About Geosurv
Geosurv is a growing Australian surveying, geospatial and utilities services business, delivering projects across construction, infrastructure and civil industries.
Our Utilities division provides a broad range of services, including utility locating and mapping, non-destructive digging, CCTV investigations, maintenance and other specialist services.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and highly organised Allocator to join our team at our Kogarah head office.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, organised and commercially minded Allocator to take ownership of the daily scheduling and coordination of our Utilities field workforce.
Reporting directly to the General Manager – Utilities, you will play a critical role in ensuring we have the right people, with the right skills, on the right projects at the right time.
This isn't just about filling gaps in a schedule. We need someone who can think ahead, anticipate resourcing challenges, manage competing priorities and keep our field teams operating efficiently.
You will work closely with our operational leaders, project managers and field employees to coordinate resources across our Locating & Mapping and Investigations & Maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily allocation and scheduling of field employees across the Utilities division.
- Coordinate resources based on project requirements, employee competencies, availability and location.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date allocation schedule, communicating changes clearly to all stakeholders.
- Plan ahead to identify upcoming resource shortages, scheduling conflicts and opportunities to improve utilisation.
- Respond quickly to last-minute changes, employee absences, urgent bookings and shifting project priorities.
- Work closely with operational leaders to forecast workforce requirements and support project mobilisation.
- Ensure employees are appropriately qualified, inducted and competent for their allocated projects.
- Monitor resource utilisation and proactively minimise downtime between projects.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams regarding bookings, scheduling changes and project requirements.
- Coordinate relevant project documentation, inductions and operational requirements.
- Review daily timesheets against allocations and assist with operational reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, resource efficiency and overall productivity.
About You We are looking for someone who is switched on, reliable, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a busy operational environment.
Ideally, you will bring:
- At least 4 years' experience in an allocation, scheduling, workforce coordination or similar operational role.
- Experience in construction, civil infrastructure, utilities or another field-based services environment.
- Experience allocating both people AND assets.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple teams,
projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with field employees, managers and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate schedules and records.
- A practical understanding of field operations, workforce capabilities and project requirements.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions and respond quickly when plans change.
Most importantly, we want someone who takes ownership of their work, thinks ahead rather than simply reacting, and genuinely enjoys keeping a busy operation running smoothly. Why Join Geosurv?
- Growing business: Join an established Australian company continuing to expand its operations and service offerings.
- Direct leadership exposure: Work closely with our General Manager – Utilities and operational leadership team.
- Meaningful responsibility: Take ownership of a critical function that directly influences project delivery and business performance.
- Variety: Work across multiple utilities service streams, projects and field teams.
- Supportive team: Be part of a practical, hardworking team that values accountability, communication and getting things done.
- Long-term opportunity: Join a business investing in its people, systems and operational structure to support continued growth.
Interested? If you are an experienced Allocator or Scheduler who enjoys a rapid-paced environment, takes pride in being organised and knows how to keep field teams moving, we would love to hear from you.
