/n Join a well-respected Queensland Government department and become part of an established finance team responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. This six-month contract offers an excellent opportunity to gain further government experience, with potential for extension. The Position:

/n As the Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of key financial accounting and month-end activities.

Your responsibilities will include: /n /n

- Providing advice on financial accounting matters, policies, guidelines and systems

/n

- Supporting month-end processes including journals, bank reconciliations and accruals

/n

- Assisting with the preparation and review of financial reports

/n

- Managing accounting requirements relating to fixed asset acquisitions and disposals

/n

- Reviewing financial data and investigating discrepancies

/n

- Supporting finance projects and data migration activities as required

/n Your Profile:/n

/n This position will suit an experienced Financial Accountant who can confidently work across month-end and broader financial accounting responsibilities. You will ideally have:/n

/n /n

- Strong technical financial accounting skills

/n

- Experience with journals, reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting

/n

- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data

/n

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines

/n

- Experience working within a large or complex organisation

/n

- ERP systems experience, with SAP highly regarded

/n

- CPA/CA qualifications or progress towards qualification will be advantageous

/n Previous Queensland Government experience will be highly regarded; however, candidates coming from a commercial environment with strong financial accounting experience are also encouraged to apply./n
