FlyPelican is seeking B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentices to join our growing engineering team in Newcastle, NSW. The position will be based in our new base maintenance hangar at Williamtown Airport.
Key duties
- Carry out aircraft maintenance in base and line maintenance environments under appropriate supervision.
- Maintain a safe, professional and compliant working setting.
- Communicate effectively with the Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer and other members of the engineering team.
- Perform work in accordance with applicable regulations, company procedures and the Part 145 AMO Exposition.
- Travel to FlyPelican ports when required to assist with defect rectification and AOG recovery.
- Attend off-site block-release training as required.
About you
Applicants will
- Be committed to completing an apprenticeship leading toward a B1.1 aircraft maintenance engineer licence.
- Have a genuine interest in aircraft maintenance and a willingness to learn.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Have good communication, organisational and practical problem-solving skills.
- Hold a current driver licence.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Red Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Be able to obtain an Airside Driver Authority.
- Be willing to comply with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Management Plan.
Applicants who have completed a Certificate II in Aeroskills or have experience with turboprop/pressurized aircraft will be highly regarded but is not essential for the role.
Selection process
