APS5 Compliance & Investigations Officers | 12 month NON-ONGOING role | Melbourne CBD

We are seeking motivated APS5 Compliance & Investigations Officers to join a growing regulatory team. These roles offer the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful matters, contributing to the integrity, transparency and accountability of a nationally significant regulatory framework.
Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will undertake a variety of compliance, assessment and investigative activities, analyse complex information, and provide advice that supports sound decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess financial, regulatory and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Conduct compliance reviews, enquiries and investigations into potential breaches, risks or avoidance schemes.
- Gather, analyse and interpret complex information, financial data and evidence to identify issues, trends and potential non-compliance.
- Utilise data, intelligence and analytical tools to identify emerging risks and support targeted compliance activities.
- Prepare high-quality briefing papers, reports, correspondence and recommendations for internal stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Contribute to the administration, assessment and processing of claims, applications and funding requests where required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and the consistent application of regulatory frameworks, policies and procedures.
- Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance, seek information and support regulatory outcomes.
About You
- Experience working in a compliance, audit, investigations, governance, assurance, regulatory or similarly structured environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess moderately complex to complex information and provide sound recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within legislative, policy and procedural frameworks.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, submissions or correspondence.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability and resilience when responding to changing priorities, legislative requirements and business needs.
- A positive, proactive approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Baseline clearance or an ability to obtain one is a must.
