DFP Recruitment is partnering with a Federal Government agency to source an experienced Finance Analyst (APS6 Equivalent). This opportunity will suit a finance professional who enjoys working with complex financial and investment matters, providing high-quality analysis, and supporting informed decision-making at a senior level. Opportunities are available through Labour Hire, Non-Ongoing engagement, or Section 26 transfer arrangements.

About the Role

As a Finance Analyst, you will contribute to a range of financial analysis, investment oversight, reporting, and assurance activities. The role involves reviewing and analysing financial information, preparing executive briefs and approval documentation, monitoring financial performance, and providing strategic insights to support key business outcomes. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to governance and reporting requirements, and support senior decision-makers through the delivery of accurate, timely, and evidence-based financial advice.

Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly will be critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse financial data, investment proposals, funding requests and financial plans.
- Prepare briefing papers, reports, executive correspondence and delegate approval documentation.
- Monitor financial performance and provide timely reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
- Contribute to risk assessments, value-for-money analysis and assurance activities.
- Develop dashboards, visual materials and reporting products for senior stakeholders.
- Support governance, audit and review processes through the preparation of financial information and documentation.




- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, provide advice and coordinate deliverables.
- Assist with financial administration, reporting cycles and other ad hoc finance activities as required.

About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Experience undertaking financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting or investment assessment activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Experience preparing briefs, reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience working within a government, regulatory or large corporate environment will be highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
