Architect — Tourism Precinct Design Lead
Creative Lines | Queensland | Project consultancy
Creative Lines is seeking an architect or architectural practice to lead the coordinated design of a tourism precinct within a broader Queensland walking trail and overnight eco-camp project.
The precinct will bring together cultural welcome and gathering spaces, visitor amenities, community facilities and landscaped public spaces. This is an opportunity to shape the precinct as a whole, working closely with our construction delivery team, cultural advisers and project stakeholders from concept through to delivery.
The role:
Lead the precinct design and coordinate the specialist input needed to deliver:
- Overall site planning, visitor arrival and connections to adjoining infrastructure.
- Cultural welcome, gathering and performance spaces.
- Public amenities, shelters, seating and shade.
- Community kitchen and catering facilities where included.
- Artist, maker and precinct operational facilities where included.
- Landscape and public realm design, planting and rehabilitation.
- Pedestrian circulation and accessible connections.
- Civil works, drainage, structural design and foundations.
- Water, wastewater, power and building services.
- Cultural interpretation spaces and installations developed with cultural representatives.
- Coordinated approval documentation, construction drawings, specifications and construction-phase design support.
Wayfinding and signage are excluded. We expect the architect to lead design integration and bring in appropriately qualified landscape, engineering and services specialists where required.
Please identify the disciplines available within your practice and those you would provide through subconsultants.
Who we’re looking for:
A Queensland practising registered architect, or an interstate registered architect able to obtain the appropriate Queensland registration before providing architectural services.
Experience leading multidisciplinary design for tourism, community facilities or public precincts would be valuable, particularly in regional, tropical or coastal settings. Experience working with Indigenous communities and cultural advisers is also welcomed.
We’re interested in thoughtful, practical designs that balance visitor experience, cultural context, construction cost and long-term maintenance. Standard products, modular construction and prefabrication should be considered where they suit the project.
Sole practitioners and smaller practices with an established specialist network are encouraged to respond.
Working together:
The initial prospect involves tender-stage collaboration, with subsequent design and construction support subject to project award and an agreed consultancy scope and fee.
You’ll work directly with a construction team experienced in trails, visitor infrastructure and remote delivery. Consultants based elsewhere in Australia are welcome, with availability for agreed site visits.
Express your interest:
Send a brief introduction, portfolio or capability statement, relevant project examples, registration details, proposed consultant team, availability and indicative fee structure to:
[email protected]
Please outline your capacity to lead the complete precinct design package and identify any exclusions.
- Expressions of interest close 18 October 2026
