MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Provide accurate and timely financial information to management, including review of project level profit & loss & branch dashboards

Manage key members of the Finance Team to ensure maximum efficiency & productivity of the team, whilst ensuring deadlines are met.

Provide support to the Business Controller for all finance matters, to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity & compliance within the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Your responsibilities will include other tasks, which your Manager may instruct you to undertake from time to time.

Hire Contract Costing Investigation & Reporting

- Preparation, Review & Analysis of Job and Contract Profitability;

In conjunction with other Finance Team Members,
- Process month end journals for reclassification or coding corrections of job and project costs;
- Liaise with Branch Managers, Regional Operations Managers & Sales Personnel to investigate jobs with abnormally low or high profit margins.

Monthly Management Reporting

- Preparation, Review & Analysis of Monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets;
- Preparation & Review of Individual Branch Dashboards and Profit & Loss Reports;
- Lodgement of Financial Information within Corporate Reporting System (currently GPS) within strict end of month deadlines.

Supervision of other Finance Team Members to ensure;
- Processing of month end journals for accruals & prepayments;
- Compliance with lease accounting AASB16 / IFRS16 standards and audit requirements.
- Preparation & Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations within month end deadlines;

End of Year Reporting including External Audit

- Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations and collation of supporting documentation to satisfy external audit requirements;
- Co-ordination of audit requests to ensure maximum efficiency and audit completion within deadlines.

Annual Budget Preparation In conjunction with other Finance Team members;

- Preparation of Annual Budgets for PNL, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Capital Expenditure.

Cash Management and Company Credit Cards

- Regular Monitoring of Cash Balances to ensure appropriate balances are maintained
- Implement Process Changes to transfer Core Banking to Citibank, including investigation & testing of payment files, data exports for Accounts Receivable daily data import and modification of any other necessary processes.

Supervision of other Finance Team Members to ensure;
- Daily Bank Reconciliations are prepared for all company bank accounts
- Maintenance of Company Credit Card Facility, is kept up to date, including new card applications and cancellations as requested by authorised managers;
- Monthly expenditure listings are processed & correctly coded
- Monitor available limits for specific credit cards as requested from time to time;

Fixed Asset Management

Supervision of other Finance Team Members to ensure;

- Asset Inductions are completed within Insphire, including determination of appropriate depreciation rates and processing of general journals to move costs from clearing accounts;
- Processing of end of month depreciation journals, within end of month deadlines;
- Processing Asset Disposals within Insphire and Evolution to recognise profits or losses.

Australian Tax Office Compliance

Supervision of other Finance Team Members to ensure;

- Preparation,



Lodgement & Payment of Monthly GST and PAYG Instalment Returns;
- Preparation, Lodgement & Payment of Annual FBT Returns.

Project Work

- Resolve open Internal Audit findings, including implementation of new procedures and working with other area’s of the business to find optimum solutions for risk minimisation, where elimination is not possible.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Team to update & cleanse legacy PPSR registrations
- Provide suggestions for continuous improvement of Reporting & Processes across the Business.

Other

- Electronic and Physical Filing of supporting documentation in line with procedures;
- Adherence to company policies and procedures;
- Championing the NPE brand with a high-level of customer service through all interactions;
- Other tasks as required by your Manager.

Your day-to-day

- Prepare, review and analyse monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets and branch performance reports.
- Monitor project and contract profitability, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve business performance.
- Partner with Branch Managers, Regional Operations Managers and Sales Teams to investigate variances and provide commercial insights.
- Support the month-end reporting process, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning activities.
- Coordinate financial reporting requirements and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting deadlines.

Your skills and experience

- Skills and Experience:

Essential:

- Minimum 10 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business or Commerce.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, management accounting and month-end processes.
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial reports, management accounts, Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or financial systems.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.




- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and supporting team members in a positive and collaborative environment.
- Ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism with a strict commitment to confidentiality.

Desirable:

- CA or CPA qualification (or working towards completion).
- Experience within a multi-site, operational or project-based business environment.
- Experience with audit processes, budgeting and forecasting.
- Knowledge of AASB16 / IFRS16 lease accounting requirements.
