This manager is seeking an Associate Investment Specialist to join its Sydney-based team, working at the intersection of investment, clients and the broader market. Our client is an award winning and high performing manager that has strategies across equities, credit, infrastructure, real estate and emerging markets. This appointment represents an opportunity for an analytically strong and commercially minded individual to develop a career within funds management, working closely with the investment and distribution teams and becoming a key representative of the fund’s investment capability in the market.

The Associate Investment Specialist will play an important role in assisting with articulating the investment philosophy, portfolio positioning, performance and individual investment ideas to clients, consultants, research houses and retail / wealth clients.

The role requires someone capable of developing a detailed understanding of the portfolios and the underlying investment research, while being able to translate complex investment concepts into clear, compelling and commercially relevant insights for different audiences.

Responsibilities will include

- Developing a deep understanding of fund’s investment philosophy, process, portfolios, individual stock positions and performance drivers.




- Acting as a key conduit between the investment team, distribution team and external clients.
- Assisting the senior investment specialists in meetings with research houses, asset consultants, advisers and institutional and wholesale clients.
- Supporting the firm's relationships with ratings and research organisations and contributing to the ratings and due diligence process.
- Preparing and delivering investment presentations, portfolio updates and market commentary.
- Developing high-quality investment content, including presentations, thought leadership, white papers and other client materials.
- Working closely with the distribution team to provide technical investment support throughout the client engagement process.
- Presenting at conferences, industry events and other external forums as experience develops.

Relevant backgrounds could include

- Equity or financial research, including sell-side research;
- Investment banking;
- Valuations, transaction services or corporate finance;
- Investor relations,



particularly within funds management or investment-led organisations;
- Investment or portfolio research; or
- Other analytically rigorous financial markets roles.

You will ideally bring:
- 1-3 years experience from university
- Strong financial analysis and valuation skills and the ability to understand companies, markets and investment portfolios at a detailed level.
- Genuine intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in investing and financial markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to take complex financial and investment information and communicate it simply and persuasively.
- Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of what matters to clients.
- Confidence engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- A high level of attention to detail and intellectual rigour.
- An independent mindset, initiative and willingness to develop views rather than simply repeat established messaging.
