The Azure Engineer designs, deploys and manages cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure, supporting reliable, secure and cost-effective operations across our platform.
What you'll do
- Design and implement Azure cloud architecture aligned with security, scalability and cost best practices.
- Provision and manage Azure resources, including compute, storage, networking and identity services.
- Configure and maintain Azure networking, including virtual networks, load balancers and firewalls.
- Implement and manage Azure security controls, including role-based access control and Key Vault.
- Monitor cloud costs and usage, identifying and implementing opportunities to optimise spend.
- Support the migration of on-premise or legacy workloads to Azure with minimal disruption.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code for Azure environments (e.g. Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates).
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, working closely with the wider engineering team.
- Support disaster recovery planning and backup strategies for Azure-hosted workloads.
- Document Azure architecture, configurations and operational runbooks.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years' experience working with Microsoft Azure in a production setting.
- Experience with Azure networking, security and identity and access management.
- Familiarity with PowerShell or Azure CLI for scripting and automation.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Bicep, ARM templates or Terraform.
- Understanding of cloud cost management and optimisation practices.
- Experience supporting cloud migrations or hybrid cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
