About the Role

JRP Construction (SA) Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team in Klemzig, South Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining walls, partitions, arches and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, stone and other masonry materials. The role requires a solid understanding of construction plans, specifications, masonry techniques and workplace safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Study plans and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Erect and dismantle restricted-height scaffolding in accordance with safety requirements.
- Seal foundations with damp-resistant materials and prepare mortar bases for masonry work.
- Spread mortar using trowels and lay bricks in rows, designs and specified patterns.
- Embed bricks, blocks and other masonry materials in mortar and remove excess mortar.
- Check and maintain accurate vertical and horizontal alignment of masonry structures.
- Cut, shape and polish bricks and stone using appropriate machinery and hand tools.




- Shape bricks and masonry materials to fit irregular spaces and architectural requirements.
- Repair and maintain brickwork, cement blocks and related structures.
- Construct walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks.
- Carry out stone cutting, shaping and finishing for monumental masonry where required.
- Follow all relevant workplace health and safety requirements and construction standards.

Skills and Qualifications
- AQF Certificate III in Bricklaying/Bricklaying and Blocklaying, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV.
- Relevant experience in bricklaying, blocklaying and masonry construction.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using bricklaying tools, machinery and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual work in a construction environment.

Pay: $79,000.00 – $89,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Klemzig SA 5087
