Why Bushcare Services

Bushcare Services is dedicated to protecting and restoring Australia’s natural landscapes by enhancing functional natural spaces for conservation and asset management. We work across conservation, parks management, and wildlife habitat restoration to ensure our ecosystems thrive for future generations.

With a strong focus on outcome-driven solutions, we help land managers enhance biodiversity, maintain sustainable park assets, and manage bushland risks. Backed by industry insight and hands-on expertise, we turn ecological plans into practical work that delivers real outcomes.

At Bushcare Services you will:

- Gain supervised field experience across a variety of natural-area projects

- Have the opportunity to build capability in plant and weed identification

- Gain experience with a variety of equipment, weed control techniques, planned burn preparation and braoder vegetation-management work.

Help restore and protect natural places

We are seeking a Bushland Field Worker to join our dynamic team in a casual position with flexibility on days worked, that offers up to 38 hours per week whilst contributing to meaningful conservation work.

This is a hands-on field role for someone who wants to build real capability and improve natural areas through practical, on-ground conservation and vegetation management activities. You do not need to be the most experienced applicant.

We are looking for someone who shows up, learns quickly, works safely, and cares about protecting native areas.

The work

You will work from our depot and travel with the team to project sites across the Gold Coast, Logan, and Brisbane regions. Your work will include:

- Operating brushcutters,

hedge trimmers and other 2-stroke equipment safely.

- Completing manual vegetation management, bushland maintenance, and follow-up weed treatment.

- Assisting with primary chemical weed control within your training, licence, authorisation, and supervision requirements.

- Supporting fire preparation and vegetation-management activities.

- Building practical plant and weed identification skills.

- Reporting hazards, changed site conditions, environmental concerns, access issues, and scope questions early.

- Caring for equipment and leaving work areas, materials, and handovers in good order.

What we are looking for

You will bring

- A Construction Industry White Card.

- Valuable overall fitness for outdoor field work and manual tasks.

- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow direction.

- A respectful and inclusive approach to working with supervisors and teammates.

- A genuine interest in environmental outcomes and practical conservation work.

- The willingness to accept coaching, ask questions, and work within your current training and authorisation.

The following are desirable, but not essential:
- Strong plant and weed identification skills.

- Experience using hand tools, 2 stroke equipment or similar field equipment.

- Experience in bush regeneration, vegetation management, conservation, or related field work.

- Level 1 chainsaw licence.

- ACDC accreditation.

- Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management or a related qualification.

Certificate III is desirable rather than essential. If you do not hold it, you must be willing to work towards it.

What success looks like

You will be successful in this role when you:

- Arrive prepared, reliable, and ready to work safely outdoors.

- Complete assigned work thoroughly and at the expected role level for the site conditions.

- Protect native vegetation by checking before acting when plant identification or treatment is uncertain.

- Use brushcutters, hedge trimmers, chemicals, and other equipment within your role requirements.

- Raise safety, quality, environmental, equipment, and access issues before they become bigger problems.

- Contribute positively to an inclusive team and respond well to feedback.

This role may not be for you if…

- You are not prepared to work outdoors and complete physical field tasks.

- You are unreliable or cannot commit to working your rostered shifts.

- You are not open to learning, coaching, or feedback.

- You prefer to work alone rather than contribute to a cooperative team.

- You are not prepared to work within safety, environmental, licence, authorisation, and supervision requirements.

Apply now

If you want practical outdoor work, care about natural environments, and are ready to build your skills in vegetation management, we would like to hear from you.

Please send us your resume and a short cover letter explaining why this role interests you and what relevant field experience, licences, or qualifications you bring.
