Business Analyst – Systems & Digital Transformation 5 Plus Business Consulting Pty Ltd (5PBC) Sydney, NSW | Full-time | Hybrid $80,000 + superannuation About 5PBC 5PBC is a Sydney-based business and technology consulting firm. We help organisations improve how their existing systems, data and operational processes work together, with a focus on finance, compliance and business operations. Our work includes system integration, workflow improvement and automation.

Depending on the project, this may involve accounting and payroll systems, CRM platforms, spreadsheets, reporting tools and document processes.

The Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst to work with clients, consultants and technical specialists on systems and digital transformation projects. You will examine how a client currently works, identify where systems or processes create problems, and turn business needs into explicit requirements for a proposed solution. You will be responsible for your assigned analysis and documentation, working with the wider project team through testing and implementation.

This is a hybrid role. Working from home, office attendance and client site visits will be arranged according to project and client needs.

Key Responsibilities - Meet with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their processes, systems and business requirements.

- Analyse existing workflows and identify system gaps, duplicated work and opportunities for improvement.
- Document current and proposed processes, functional requirements, user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria.
- Examine how information moves between systems and data sources, and define relevant integration, data mapping and validation requirements.
- Work with consultants and technical specialists to clarify requirements and review whether proposed solutions meet the agreed business needs.
- Prepare test scenarios, support system and user acceptance testing, and document defects and agreed changes.




- Prepare process and user documentation, and support implementation and subsequent improvements. Projects may involve processes such as financial reconciliation, payroll exceptions, approvals, reporting and document review.

Skills and Experience - A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or a related discipline.

- At least one year of relevant professional experience in business analysis, systems analysis, technology consulting or a similar systems-focused role.
- Experience translating stakeholder needs into process maps, functional requirements, user stories or acceptance criteria for changes to business systems.
- Practical exposure to workflows or data moving between business systems, with involvement in system testing or user acceptance testing.
- Experience working with both business stakeholders and technical team members.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to take ownership of assigned work.

Desirable

Experience - Exposure to ERP, CRM, accounting, payroll or document management systems.

- Experience with system integration, workflow automation, reporting or data analysis.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Power BI or similar tools.
- Experience in a client-facing role or with teams working across different locations.
- Additional language skills that may help with client or project team communication.

Travel is not a requirement of the role.
